MUST HAVE PASSWORD POLICIES

Today am writing this article in other to help so many people out there to choose a well secure PASSWORD to prevent hackers from hacking into there privacy.

As a computer scientist, i should show users the importance of securing their passwords. Here are some tips on how to that:
1. DEMONSTRATE HOW TO CREATE SECURE PASSWORDS: Generally people use to create the PASSWORDS using only words, which can be less secure.
2. SHOW WHAT CAN HAPPEN WHEN WEAK PASSWORDS ARE USED OR PASSWORDS ARE SHARED: Diligently build user awareness  of social engineering attacks , Encouraging the use of a strong password-creation policy that includes the following criteria:
a. Use puctuation characters to seperate words.
b. Never use only numbers (255774) such PASSWORDS can be cracked quickly.
c. Use upper and Lowercase letters, special characters, and numbers. e.g GtSA1'r23 ensure its something you can remember easy.
d. Change passwords every 15 to 30 days or immediately if they're suspected of being compromised.
e.Use different passwords for system. This is especially important for network infrastructure hosts, such as servers, firewalls, and routers.
Its okay to use similar PASSWORDS- just make sure they are slightly different for each type of system, such as ffga872-Win7 for Windows systems and ffga439 for Linux systems.
f. Use variable-length PASSWORDS. This trick can throw off attackers because they won't know the required minimum or maximum length of passwords and must try all password lenght combinations. e.g A270D9634EFF3818F6CCBDF5EC, But ensure its something you can remember off-heart.
g. Don't use common slang words or words that are in a dictionary.
h. Don't rely completely on similar - looking characters, such as 3 instead of E, 5 instead of S, or ! Instead of 1. PASSWORD - cracking programs can for this.
Use password -protected screen savers. Unlocked screens are a great way for systems to be compromised even if their hard drives are encrypted.
h. Don't reuse the same PASSWORD within at least four to five password changes.
i. Don't share passwords. Avoid sharing PASSWORDS to your friends
j. Avoid storing user passwords in an unsecuerd central location, such as an unprotected Spreadsheet on a hard drive. This is an invitation for disaster. Use password or a similar program to store user password I hope this article have help someone out there. For more help and assistance on how to go about this feel free to drop your comment below.

HOW THE INTERNET WORKS FOR DUMMIES

Take for example when somebody types www.komputercoach.blogspot.com the computer send an HTTP(Hypertext Transfer Protocol) request to google's public server of coarse you know blogspot is hosted by google.

So the server get the HTTP request it will create and send an HTML(Hypertext Markup Language) File back to the computer. So the computer processes the HTML file and the files you request for comes to life now you can see the post which i post on this website, you click the any post this same process repeat itself again. So now you know when you type the name of a website what you are actually doing is that you are connecting to server.

SIMPLE WAY OF TROUBLESHOOTING A POWER PACK

In this post today am going to be teaching you guys on how to do a simple power pack TROUBLESHOOTING. I found out that most times when a system unit refuse to boot people tend to conclude that their power pack is either faulty or damage and people find it difficult to troubleshoot a POWER PACK OR POWER SUPPLY
First and foremost what is a power pack, a power pack is an OFF-BOARD COMPONENTS in a system unit used to supply power to all the components in the computer system e.g MOTHERBOARD, CD-ROM, HARD DRIVE, e.t.c An example of a power pack is seen below
POWER SUPPLY

                                             A POWER SUPPLY WITH CONNECTORS

TOOLS NEEDED FOR TROUBLESHOOTING A POWER PACK

1.SCREW DRIVER

2. A CONDUCTOR(could be a copper or a wire)

NOW LETS GET STARTED. Take the screw driver and unscrew the nut holding the chasis or atx cover, when you might have open the the atx cover locate the power pack or power supply and unplug all the neccesary connectors connecting to the motherboard. Now unscrew the power pack so that you wil be able to remove the POWER PACK

NOTE. A power pack or power supply connector is called an IDE( INTEGRATED DRIVE ELECTRONICS)

Now take the 24 pin ATX CONNECTOR, now this where we make use of our the conductor(COPPER WIRE) i listed above.
Identify the GREEN and BLACK wire they are both close together  connect both pins with the conductor , Now power your power supply to see if it is still working, if the cooling fan rotates it means your POWER PACK is still functioning but if its not rotating that means your power supply is damage.

PRECAUTION

1. Ensure to avoid touching naked wire or cable to avoid electric shock.

2. Ensure to unplug the power cable from the power pack or power supply when then it is not in use.

3. Ensure your foot wear is dry or not wet.

That's all for now, wasn't that simple, thanks for reading my post, don't forget to drop your comment below if you encounter any issues.
